  3. Ann, Another great video; you never cease to amaze me. Copywriting or producing any content on line NEEDS to be conversational as you have been teaching in the RNMP. I particularly like Davids reference to the banker. Knowing your customer and how they will react to your content. Putting yourself in your customers shoes. Talking or writing to your customer rather than at them. You and David are having idle conversation in this video which is precisely the way people should write content. Writing content as if you were having a discussion over coffee ( or in your case a beer or is that iced tea?) is much more appealing and, in my opinion, keeps visitors on your site or blog longer. Which increases the odds that they will look into whatever it is that you are selling. BUT your not selling your PREselling. I’ve seen so many cool sites on line that do this with perfection and most of them are SBI sites which comes as no surprise. Conversational content when done right shows off your (the authors) personality which makes it more real. Thanks again for the video pure value.

  4. Hi Ann:

I had the pleasure of listening to you and David on the (1-hour) phone conversation link you e-mailed us the other day – it was awesome!

Now – with the excellent ‘video’ above – it ramps this up even further.

It looks like good COPYWRITING SKILLS will play a vital part in just about everything we do when it comes to “communicating more effectively” with others.

Very, very valuable lesson here – many thanks!

Our sincere appreciation to David G.!

    Warmly / Peter A.

  5. Anne and David,
Got the emails. Read the blog posts. This is My Thing, the one great task I’ve set myself–to learn the copywriting skills I need and that I can pass along to my team!
Can’t wait to sign up and get crackin’!
    Best regards,
    Kate W.

  6. In watching this video and listening to the Ann Sieg and David Garfinkel interview that was sent out the other day, I realize this is exactly how I have been thinking what great copywriting should be.

The more your content and message can match a copywriting mindset that seeks to truly connect and communicate at the prospect’s level, the more that prospect will feel that you are that trusted friend and adviser they are looking for.

To be viewed that way by a prospect is top-priority for any small or home-based business looking to survive in a world full of big, impersonal corporations.

    Take care,

    Patrick

  7. This is just what I need and can’t wait to be able to participate in this.

Copywriting sounds scary, but this has cleared up the mystery and misconceptions. Thank you for offering this and sharing this information.

Communication is definitely one of the most needed ones for success in life, all the way from personal relationships to business.

    Thank you!

All the best to you and yours,
    Ed and Pat Berry

  8. Hi James,

About the suspicious glass next to me. I have no idea what is in that glass. I was wondering the same thing when I watched the video.

    I’ve got a hunch it’s Mike’s beer. :-) Nah. Not really.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I have to admit it’s been an absolute wonderful working relationship with David. I am very pleased to share his knowledge and expertise with my entire team (staff, trainers, super guides and coaches).

Last night my teammate, Didi Alcheva, and I were trying to figure out the total number of people on our team. It’s edging up towards 50+ people at this point.

I’m really excited to see how this copywriting training (think experiential learning) helps improve our overall communication processes and, as I mention in the video, the fulfillment of our overall vision.

This is why David is so well suited to work with our team and our audience. He shares our same vision and purpose to help empower people and develop out their skill sets so they can take full ownership of their businesses. I like that!

    Stay tuned for more information.

  9. Ann, this is an awesome video! I agree with the above post. Copywriting is an invaluable skill.

What I am really excited about is the coaching aspect of Breakthrough, which you spoke about in the webinar a few days ago. I look forward to the changes in Breakthrough, and I look forward to continued growth and learning through RP.

You guys are awesome! I still can’t believe you give away so much valuable information.

(You sure that’s not beer in that glass.. lol)

  10. Dear Ann and David,

Thank you so much for this video. You have really clarified the value of the “copywriter’s mindset”.

One of the things I like the most about what you said, is that with copywriting, you tune into your reader–put yourself into their mindset.

This skill is valuable at any time, from interpersonal relationships to business. I am a Thai Massage practitioner. Thai massage has an interesting component; I move my client into passive yoga-like stretches. This means that I must feel what my clients feel. I must make sure their stretch is relaxing and opening, but not too strong to create tension (and possibly injury). They must “give” their body to me and allow me to move it; they must trust me.

Copywriting, as I understand your video, is the written equivalent of me knowing my clients. I must know what my reader is thinking, and feeling as I write. Then, when I have their trust, I can offer solutions that benefit them.

What’s tricky, as you point out in your “narrow bandwidth” discussion, is that you don’t have nearly as many cues as I do. I can see their posture, their breath, their muscle tension. I can touch them in a reassuring way. Somehow, with copywriting, I have to build the same rapport without nearly the same amount of interpersonal data.

Thank you for this video. You make copywriting seem like a lot of fun!

    Julia

  11. I do not understand why I can not get my id
to market Manifesto. It comes up but the certificate is in another name. Annette Tush. Whi is this? She is on my computer so everythime I link someone to Manifesto she gets the credit.
I try to link with my id and it comes up error.
Please check into this. On my hub pages my id will not come up.

  12. Side Note: regarding the suspicious looking glass next to Ann…it is Didi’s hot tea.

You see, Didi isn’t a coffee drinker. She prefers a glass of hot water or a glass of tea. For some reason or another, it was left on the table.

Ann, I agree with you on this point when you say:
“I’m really excited to see how this copywriting training (think experiential learning) helps improve our overall communication processes and, as I mention in the video, the fulfillment of our overall vision.”

Everyone DOES need this! And it will be fun to pull up a chair and experience this learning all together as a team.

What did you call it? “Life 2.0″ Learning – I sure do like that. I think you’ve coined a new phrase or buzzword.

  13. I restarted the video 4 times and took notes. I’m so excited to enroll in this course and start attracting and keeping leads, as my “warm market” which was never warm in the first place has long since gone by the wayside. I can definitely see now that effective copywriting is the key to building a successful business.

  14. Great Idea. How can I subscribe for this course?

  15. What I think is sooo extremely important about what you two have shared is the way our language changes as we learn more and more – that “curse” on our communication skills.

It’s too easy to begin where we left off in our learning and write to ourselves instead of thinking about – okay, who am I trying to help and where are they with this subject? (copywriting mindset!)

It’s not dumbing down anything. It’s just be helpful like giving a map to someone that begins with “you’re here – now to get to this destination, go this way.”

Can’t wait for the crash course!!

  16. Ann you know the one thing that human beings have that separates us from the rest of the animal world is our ability to first off reason and think, but more importantly to communicate with words.

Being able to express yourself in words like you’re talking to someone sitting across from you at the kitchen table is definitely an art.

It’s a way of as you say connecting and being conversational something that was never taught to us in school.Copying is huge in this new world of Web 2.0 and social media, and those who master it will gain much success because “Words are of course the most powerful drug used by mankind”Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)

  17. Larry Nash says:

  21. Lol…my glass became famous. :) Yes, that should be my tea…you see the office did not have any cups so I had to use a glass for my tea. :)

It was exciting and a great experience to witness the recording of this video…the positive energy in the room was contagious…especially after David’s laughter. I got a ton of value then and now re-watching the video a ton more.

I am totally excited to have the opportunity to get such great high level training for free…I am very grateful to be a part of this awesome team and company, that continuously nurtures it’s team members and helps everyone grow and develop. 22. I’d like to know about “getting in to your kid’s mind..” stuff. Anything that can help with a very smart six year old girl!

I’m looking forward to this training and the timing for me is great.

Thanks for putting this together Ann.

    Ness,

  23. I loved to hear Ann’s delighted laughs when she gave examples of how David’s copywriting teaching influences 80/20’s work day. Like for example: a email subject line, On my Knees and Praying…. from the webmaster. That email got opened quickly by everyone!!! lol Got their attention alright:-)

David is so down to earth, connected in conversation with Ann. I know the course will be delightful and worth a million bucks.
