What’s Working Now Inside Daily Marketing Coach (DMC) – Meet Ross

Note from Ann Sieg

Ross is one of our Daily Marketing Coach (DMC) students. Yesterday he made a post in our private Facebook community group page that we wanted to share here on the blog. It’s a good example of Ross’s hard work and creativity and implementation. It’s also a great description of Ross’s work process, which we encourage everyone to have.

Finally, we like it because it’s a great example of the good work we’re doing to help people. As DMC continues to mature and get built out, we’ll be bringing you more and more stories like these. We have quite a few of them already. For now, just read this short post from Ross, and if you want to give DMC a try for yourself, follow the instructions at the end.

Hi, this is Ross Freiberg. I just wanted to share how a few things I have started doing since joining DMC+ 6 weeks ago that have been helping me.

I have been doing a list of to do’s for the next day before I go to bed as Ann suggested in her training. I do some unique blog-able content creation everyday, and as a result of I have been able to do 6 to 7 blog posts per week.

I have been using Eric Walker’s suggested 3x3x1 strategy for generating content. This gives me 7 topics to blog about which fits neatly in a weekly schedule of writing and posting. I do any research I need to do before I start writing at all, which helps me further refine what I am going to write and blog about.

I lay out a plan on a double page of a scrap book. I cut any keyword searches I have printed and paste them onto the page. I have glue, scissors, colour pencils and pens on my table ready to go all the time.

This all gets done in about 20 minutes and very hands on and fun. It kind of reminds me of when I was in school. I know not everybody liked school but I did.

It also occurred to me that I learnt like a sponge when I was a kid at school. For me, maybe the use of all these hands on materials – the cutting, the glueing, the colouring does something in my brain that is good for learning. (See pic below courtesy of Ross)

This is what I do next.

With my to do list and my plan at the ready the next morning, I sit down to write. Sometimes I am not even dressed when I go and start writing. I look at my plan and off I go.

I have found the ideas really flow for me. I start with the first heading and just start writing, I write whatever comes to my head relevent to the first heading AND the other headings I have in my writing plan.

I write and write until all my ideas are exhausted. I can often end with 2000 to 3000 words which is enough for an entire week of blog posts. It usually needs editing, rearranging and tweaking but all the ideas are usually worked in when I keep referring to my plan that I have done.

I usually sit down to write on Monday morning when I seem freshest, and bang! — I have a weeks worth of content.

Before DMC+, I had started many blogs but always found it hard to come up with cohesive topic ideas. I would usually start to struggle after 3 to 4 posts. The 3x3x1 plan strategy and writing out the to do’s before I go to bed is working for me.

My work space is a fold up table in our front living area pictured. I have been able to generate 12 leads into my autoresponder account since starting using other strategies learnt with DMC+. My first sale via DMC+ is just a matter of time.

Thanks Ann Sieg and Eric Walker.

You’re welcome, Ross!
