  1. Wow! What powerful words and well said. I have a feeling many Network Marketers might be seeing RED when they hear this. Your point is well taken. We are in an industry that encourages entrepreneurship and independent business ownership but only if we stay within predefined limits. To me that is not true business ownership. It’s time for a wake up call in this industry.

  2. Preach, Curt. So, so, so, so true. So true.

  3. Good wake up call for Network Marketers Curt! Well said.

  4. Well said Coach Curt. Thats exactly what is happening in our group. I got in trouble for posting that DMC could really expand their business? How can I get a copy of this speech to send to our top dogs in my Company?

  5. My company frowns on other companies, but I purchase from 4 network marketing companies besides my own.

  6. Wow, coach; maybe if we ask you we could get you to tell us how you really feel; LOL Way to preach it!! I give it a hardy Amen brother!!!!!

  7. As an Amway Business Owner, or in my preferred term Amway Retail Consultant, all we teach is to be product loyal with products that we manufacture… which for us is a wider range than other companies. If there is product that our corporation doesn’t manufacture, then of course support our industry through other means.

It’s the weaker companies, with less integrity, that try to bully and cajole their members – so why not open your eyes, and support the wider industry?

As someone with integrity I am not going to promote my business over yours, just say that I respect the fact that you have the nous to get up and do something… to live for a postive reason, you are all eagles as you have left the prairie chickens behind with your decision to step out of the norm.

    All the best,

    Stephen Tuthill BA (Hon)

    • Well said, Stephen! I will look to the Amway Corporation first to buy any item I need. So far I haven’t needed to buy from other companies. They have the green products, they have the health products, and the anti-aging products I need. I thank the Lord that He knew what He was doing when I was introduced to there marvelous products and business plan. AMWAY.COM/BERRONES

  8. Alois H Auer says:

    Hi Curt,
there probably is not much a person like me could say to a person like you about this matter.
If you talk about a few products here or there, I might partially agree with you. Partially, because it all starts small and then it is often to late.
When it comes to the main point, that of building a profitable, long lasting group, our opinions differ greatly.
When you have worked your buns of, invested all your time and money only to loose all of it to a “new-we are so much better then” they group, you might look at this just a little different. I promise you, I do, because it happened to me more then once. Of course none of them are ever around for very long.
But like I said, I also know: “A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still.”
    Best wishes,

    • Hi Alois: Always appreciate respectful replies – thanks! I too have lost huge downlines, but still stick to the idea that if what I have is good enough, start ups wont threaten me… thanks for your thoughts…

  9. Kevin Mastaw says:

Amen, Curt!! As one who has built a downline with one company (since 2003), I have, and will continue to, buy products that I like from other people who are with other companies in the network marketing industry and have products that a) have proved they have several products that are better than ours or b) aren’t in our product line (like telecommunications or greeting cards). I’ve never seen anything wrong with that. After all, we do still live in a free society. (Don’t we?)

    Regards, Kevin

  10. Thanks for continuing to bless us with you valuable insight Coach…

  11. Carol Shreffler says:

Amen! I totally agree. Even if it’s buying a bottle of nail polish from your local Avon Rep, do it. They are deserving of your support too.

  12. Love your stance Curt! I wrote a Swedish blogpost about exactly this years ago. Buy what you don’t have in your company from another network marketer! Don’t build, buy!

We have washing detergent from Amway, lip primer from Mary Kay, plastic containers from Tupperware etc. I love this business model and feel proud of supporting my fellow N-marketers with my money. Most of them don’t dare to support back though… 😉

  13. perfect! You are my MLM hero :-)

  14. You are such a positive voice in the industry! Thank you for this uplifting message. Working with a company that helps empower MLMs and their distributors, I have seen this disappointing trend of shunning other N. Marketers over and over. How unfortunate! Direct sales is the best business model for our economy… why wouldn’t we want to support as many (ethical) direct sales companies we possible can, and honor the efforts of all network marketers? I encourage our clients to put their money where their mouth is. :-) This is a great post. Thanks for sharing!

  15. You’re right. I think there’s enough money to go around for everyone.

I’m not a fan of promoting more than one gig BUT I do however believe in
supporting the businesses of others. In one of the geurilla marketing books, it’s taught to
partner up and support other businesses. Not sure why people are afraid of their affiliates
promoting other things. I dunno control factor I guess.

    Great audio!
