Leadership Quality #2: Develop a Courageous Spirit To Rally Your Mental and Moral Forces To Execute The Tasks At Hand

Courage is the will to do, or what I call a “Declaration of Intent.”

This begins internally and must be intensified. But you also need to let others know what is your Declaration of Intent.

This declaration can be likened to a stone being thrown in the water.

When it’s a weak intent it sends out only little ripples. People barely notice you.

A strong resolute declaration – with enormous energy and fortitude behind it – is like a huge boulder thrown into the water.

This sends out shock waves. Causing people to take notice and begin to align with your declaration of intent. Most people are followers and are internally wired to pick up signals of strong leadership. It’s in our biology to connect with strong purpose filled people. It’s some what of an innate safety mechanism for survival.

I give an example of this in my video.

Had I not firmed up my resolve my teammates would not have followed my “will to do” and we would not have generated the results we did. A six figure income in less than five months through a brand new training system. It’s imperative to constantly intensify your will to do.

This is a hallmark of strong leadership and absolutely necessary in business.

Dive in and listen to my video and then share with me what courage means for you. Give me the specifics about how you intensify your courage, and what your “will to do” is.

  1. Ann, thank you for today’s video. Have spent lots of time thinking about this lately and building up my courage to move forward.

I’ve been using visualization a lot to see myself speaking on stage to large groups and leading workshops (online and offline). Have also been ‘declaring’ by telling people/friends/networking groups/family about the webinar series that I’m developing to help Baby Boomers and adult children of aging parents to be prepared and organized in their OWN lives (for later years) and then help them to do the same for their parents.

I participated in a national online contest through SeniorHomes.com for ‘Best Caregiver website and newsletter’ so that I could PUT myself OUT THERE and be seen/recognized…Yep, that took courage. Had to fight the ‘Who do I think I am?’ demons but I took strength from all the knowledge I’ve acquired and work I’ve already done to move forward knowing I offer something of value to others.

I start each day with a plan to follow my goals, choose the most important action steps for that day and ask God to work through me so I can best serve others in the way I am meant to.

I truly BELIEVE I will be a sought-after Speaker/Coach/Consultant and it keeps me moving forward, pushing aside any thoughts that suggest, “I can’t do this” but I know I CAN:)

Of course, having the help/encouragement from you and your team is not small factor. We all need mentors and supporters!!
    Bless you.
    Kathleen

    • I was just thinking about you this morning, Kathleen. You have made huge strides in developing out your product and niche. Now with strength of conviction I want you to go out and totally dominate that space. Personally, I think you should start driving ads to your offer. Gain some sales from that and from that you’ll have plenty of hutzpah to take everything you’ve got to the next level – including speaking in front of large numbers of people.

You’ve got an important message. Your fire book story is extremely powerful and motivating. And that’s what helps people take action.

      Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Ann,
Thanks for the video. I think being in the DMC has really improved my “courage speak”.

Let me explain. I tend to hesitate and not put myself out there a lot. I was recently on a webinar where I volunteered my web site for a focused review. I screwed up my courage and just did it! It was really helpful even though it was a long a detailed review, even brutal at times. I knew that the Webinar has been recorded and will appear on their website about PPC training for all to see.

If I had not done that I would never have gotten out of my comfort zone. BUT I never would have learned how to advance either. I credit the structured teaching in the DMC for helping me overcome some of my tendency to hold back. Thanks for your words of wisdom.

  3. Ann,
Your video on leadership and courage is OUTSTANDING! You have a way of putting into words what we know intuitively, but have difficulty translating into language. I wish I could share it with my team. I especially appreciate your mention of business being a series of problems to be solved. Most people don’t seem to get this concept and you said it so succinctly. Too many people claim they want success, but they run at breakneck speed at even the subtle scent of a problem/challenge. It is the solving of one problem to the next that moves us through an enlightened life where we are always learning and improving and exercising the new-found skills we develop along the journey. I am so blessed to have found you. You so deserve all the success in your path and more.

  4. Hi Ann,

I really appreciate the video on courage. It really hit a lot of points for me and where I am in my mlm business. Especially in not getting the results immediately, that I wanted. The crazy thing is I never had issues with displaying courage when it came to stuff I knew and were comfortable with, I guess, so during these last few months I found myself questioning any previous courage I had in other areas of my life, was it all a facade? And your video just helped me realize that no it wasn’t a facade, its just that wall of perception that I have to get around to succeed in this particular business, because quitting it is not an option. And I know there are people waiting for me to get it DONE. Thanks a mill Mrs. S :)

  5. May I simply say what a relief to find someone that actually understands what they are
discussing on the net. You definitely understand
how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More and more people need to look at this and understand this side
of the story. It’s surprising you aren’t more popular because you surely have the gift.

    Hi Ann,

What is there is that I simply vibrate my energy and become courageous and confident in what ever I do. For example one of my chanting vibration is ” Brave Heart” and then it will apply in my actions. Another is “Tranquility is the greatest manifestation of power, be still and know that I am god” and it will just apply again.

I also studied and practiced martial art and it taught me the discipline of morals, self confidence and self perfection.

Secondly on the agenda, my “will to do” is that since business changes often because this offline people in the developing countries are very nasty. That is not the issue for now. I just partnered with a friend in this month of February to collaborate and run a small computer business. So therefore it is an opportunity to lead. Now I am very grateful that I already know attraction marketing “Teaching Sell” so I have started.

My next agenda is that once I am balanced offline, that is I have made some good income. I will scale up my marketing by facing the Internet squarely with my blog post to gain traction online before I will move to you for the Renegade Network Marketer.

    Thanks.

    Solomon.

    Ann,
Your leadership series is spot on! I listen to your videos in the morning over a hot cup of coffee! Great way to start the day!

  8. Ann,
Your video on Courage hit home with me today. Years ago I did a teaching on Courage and the Lord gave it to me as “core” “rage”… at the core of us has to be this Godly rage that will not allow anyone close enough to touch that which we are determined to accomplish.
Even those of us that teach, need to be reminded sometimes of the principles of faith so that we can continue to “throw” the boulders into the water.
Thank you for being a “frontline” warrior fighting for all those that are called to do exploits as declared in Daniel 11:32b.
    Warmly,
    Jane
