Happy Mother’s Day From Ann Sieg

Mother’s Day is special.

I want to acknowledge my mom along with all the moms who work hard to raise their children.

I especially want to give recognition to the moms who work from home building a business much like I did with my own family business 80/20 Marketing, Inc.

Watch my video and then share with me how your mom shaped and influenced you.

Enjoy your day!

Raised by a single mother + maternal grandmother. Learned zero from either about entrepreneural mindset nor business nor even the importance of a credit rating, nor was I even encouraged to excel in school, which was always conveyed as “not really important.” However, am curious about your 80-20 concept. What is that all about? Just recently subscribed to Entrepreneur magazine, and at age 61 (forced out of my medical transcription career by outsourcing and voice recognition software) am looking at how I could reinvent myself via a REAL IMPACT in my world instead of merely wasting my life by being merely self-sustaining, and not passionate about what I do for 8 hrs of my life. However, with the rest of my life, have been a nuclear activist since 1979 and a political activist since 1995 in my spare time. Have lots of ideas for businesses but running one is not necessarily appealing. Would rather start/make profitable (if they would be) – then SELL those businesses. Am keen on helping women in 3rd world countries make their own businesses, but have to help myself first. Could your 80/20 spirit help me to help them?

  3. Ann, thank you for giving us some insight into how you came to be the incredible person/mother/wife/entrepreneur you are. I do NOT come from an entrepreneurial family. My father was a naval officer and my mother a reluctant “Army daughter/Navy wife” who never fully came into her own. She had a hard time handling all of the [geographic] moves she had to make throughout her lifetime and all of the expectations placed on her as wife and daughter of high-ranked military men. Having no business owners in my family (except for my grandfather who ran a donkey farm!), I am delighted to learn from women like you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What my mother did model for me is compassion, love, commitment, and maintaining a sense of humor through thick and thin–all important qualities for entrepreneurship and parenthood.

Happy Mother’s Day to you, Ann, and to all the moms reading this post!

    Dear Ann,
Yes, my mom was a great example of an entrepreneur. She, held a regular job, and raised seven of us in a small plantation town on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. One of her primary sources of “extra income” came from selling World Book encyclopedias. She took us to different events and sometimes to meet other leaders in her line of sales and marketing. Another love of her journey in sales was with Stanley Home Products, which she met two inspiring women and eventually named me after them.

Up until now I had not really thought of how she impacted who I am today. After watching your video and taking on your suggestion to write about “Shirley” I realised just how much I am my mother!

While she had her mentors, I too have so many individuals to thank, including you for inspiring me. Inspiring me to “just do it.” Please look out for an up and coming success journey story, fueled by the on going energy from my Mom – Shirley, and by other cool persons and tools in today’s business online/offline methods.

A Happy “Aha Moment” for all the Moms enjoying their time with family and friends on this very special Mother’s Day!

  5. Loved your Mother’s Day message…it’s a great testimonial to the power of parenthood.

Your commitment to honor what your parents gave you, by passing on the skills to your own children is awesome.
There are many people that grow up in rebellion to what their parents taught them…and have pushed away the very gifts that could have nurtured them and made them successful.

    Happy Mother’s Day Ann!
Much love and appreciation to you,
    Crystal

  6. Hi, Ann,

Thank you for sharing this empowering Mother’s Day message.

Organization skill is definitely one of the major skills that all business persons need to master.
Generally speaking, stay-at-home mums are being ‘passively trained’ to juggle various tasks.

For a stay-at-home business mum, this skill will also be a great life lesson that our own children can benefit.
The very successful mother leader of our organization has inspired her 19-year-old daughter, a Univerisity student, to use her part-time wisely to do networking marketing (vs the common trend of using the part time for a low pay job at local fast food outlets or supermarket).

Great sharing, Ann! THANK YOU :)

Happy Mother’s Day to you too Ann.

  8. My dad has been an entrepreneur for most of his life, and mom was a lover of books and learning. She went back to school when I was a teen to get her nursing degree. Then she assisted many, many women in childbirth and cared for their babies in the hospital nursery. She always encouraged me in whatever I set out to do.

I think the example of independent thinking, going into business for yourself, and the drive to always keep learning is now in my DNA. I encourage my own kids to go after their dreams, and to never believe that their future is dependent on someone else who may or may not hire them.

We can create our own future and do what we are gifted to do! Thanks for the reminder to consider our roots on this very special day. I miss my Mom and look forward to seeing her again one day.

  9. Hope you had a happy Mother’s Day Ann and all the other mothers reading this!

Neither of my parents had an entrepreneurial spirit, they believed more in working hard at a job, then retiring with a big superannuation package. They encouraged me to do well at school and to go to University and have a good career.

However, my Grandmother and Grandfather were both entrepreneurs, and had some kind of business throughout their working life. My Grandma had more of a “business mind” than my grandfather because grandpa was too soft on people who said they couldn’t afford to pay him.

My sister and I helped Grandma with her business, and I learned organizational and management skills from my Grandma. So, I really appreciate my Mum for all the love and encouragement she gave me, and my Grandma for the entrepreneurial skills she taught to me.

Thanks for your Mother’s Day message Ann! Regards from Julieanne

    Hi Ann,
    Happy Mother’s Day to you!!!
I just bought The Renegade system and I am still looking over the material and the system itself and I also bought the blogs secrets from Ty Tribble, but haven’t begun to build the website yet.. I have a partner who is going in with me on this. Do you think that this is ok, We’ll be sharing the same website, because we agreed to go half on the capital and 1/2 on all earnings? Can this system cross over into another language or go international?
