How Blogging and Email Marketing Can Work Hand-In Glove

I like to use the phrase “Feed Two Birds With One Seed.” It came to me one day when I heard one of my fifth grade parent classroom volunteers say to another student:

“Kill two birds with one stone.”

I said:

“I rather live in a world where we’re feeding two birds with one seed.”

Blogging With Email Marketing

When I started to really focus my freelance writing work at the intersection between blogging and email marketing, and discovered all the ways they can work together harmoniously (actually, I now believe they MUST), I started teaching on this subject.

This video (below) was taken at our Total Funnel Immersion workshop in St. Paul, MN.

Pat Campbell from http://patleecampbell.com/ is one of our pillar students. She really “gets it” and is creating terrific content that’s useful and helpful. She’s well on her way now.

Anyway, after my presentation about this particular subject, she nabbed me for an 11 minute interview about blogging and email marketing.

Here’s What This Video Is All About

When you watch the video, here’s what you’ll learn:

  • :35 – How blogging and email marketing work hand-in-glove, especially when starting out with a blog and email list so you don’t have to work as hard.
  •

  • 3:28 – How to be authentic and even vulnerable (and how not to do it) so that you’re more engaging, and build more trust with your email list.
  •

  • 7:28 – How to overcome writers block and effortlessly create content every day, which means if you’re content is any good, you’ll generate more leads and create a larger following. If you’re content stinks, but you’re using this method, it’s bound to get better, and you will have developed a great little “marketing habit.”

    • The best thing you can do for yourself is to get a coach. This will save you so much time and frustration, not to mention time. The ROI is we worth it.

  2. Eric, is your comment, “blogging is a like a fire that has to be fed”, copyrighted? I also liked, “writing is no different than speaking”. Wow, what comments. That was worth the entire video time. Excellent video! Thanks, Dan

  3. “Creating content everyday”…that is the secret sauce. Allowing your thoughts take form in some format for use within your marketing strategy.

Thanks again Eric, the interview was both fun and as always, you give your best.

  4. Hi Pat and Eric. Very natural video. I like it. I am a very beginner blogger and struggle with each blog. Eric’s comment of expressing ourselves the way you talk…..Lovely idea. I always enjoy reading / listening something that sounds natural.
Eric talks about vulnerability …. I am such a private person. I have a hard time in this area to express my feelings show “how I live”
    Pat, great questions.
I went on your blog. I love your video with the birds singing. It is very refreshing.
