Ann Sieg’s “21 Suggestions For Success” (Video #8)

“Persistence, persistence, persistence.”

Often times, we don’t find the very best things in life until after unrelenting persistence.  This is when you find out what you’re fully made of rather than giving up at the half mile mark.

“We are made to persist.  That’s how we find out who we are.” – Tobia Wolff

  1. Ann,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on persistence. It’s an integral ingredient of every success. GREAT stuff!

  2. Having met you personally, I really do believe you want people to “speak their mind”, when you give them that invitation. I also believe that you won’t take my comments as being pious or “holier than thou”. You are talking about principles that will bring about success in business. I am speaking of persistency that will bring about success in life and the inner person as well as business.

Persistency in trusting God to help me through 72 years of life has given me joy and a peace that passes all understanding. I have encountered many years of anxiety and frustration when I would forget and get caught up In myself with the “I can” attitude.

My most successful years in various business endeavors were those years I disciplined myself to be persistent, persistent, persistent in studying His Word, being grateful to Him, and trusting Him each step of the way.

Persistency should be a part of our everyday lives in every aspect of life, not just in business. Here is the perfect example: Luke 11:5-10
For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity (PERSISTENCY) he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Ann, I thoroughly enjoy being a part of the DMC team and your consistency as a leader and person is what makes it so enjoyable …by the way, I’m finding you to be very persistent as well.

    Thanks, Dan Snow

  3. Ann, just listened and agree, and I needed this today. President Calvin Coolidge said it best:

    Persistence….

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”

    Calvin Coolidge

  4. Great video! Love the tangent on industrialized education!

    • Hi Anne,
Thanks for that inspirational talk. You have a way of reaching within me and touching the places that are in want of stimulation, of supporting my expansion as a human being. When you mentioned that some of us are “atrophied” it painted a very clear picture in my mind of a state that I do NOT want to be in! I will thrive and grow and share, and grow more, and share and persist!
      Denise

  5. excellent post ann… does a mind good. I know the post is not about inspiration, but the post does inspire me to continue to persist. It’s something I can also relate to very much. On one or two occasions before, I’ve had someone ask me, how do you do what you do, or, how did you do what you did. And i honestly didn’t have an answer for that, except for “not sure I just did”. Persistance. DMC is going to help me answer that question better next time…glad i found someone as persistant as you. cheers BG
